GUINEAS

WHY KEEP GUINIES?

Guinies are an all around good bird to have around.  First they are great at eating bugs.  They will eat just about any bug that comes along and are really fond of ticks.  I often sell a dozen birds to one customer just to be free ranged to keep out ticks.

They are great watch dogs.  They have a very distinct noise that they are not afraid to use.  If anything comes in the area they will let you and your other birds know.

They make great parents.  When given the ability to lay and sit eggs, they will renew thier population.  The hens are some of the best poultry mothers around.

In our experience they get along with all of our other birds.  We are yet to see a problem between our guineas and any other bird.

They are just fun to have around,  they can fly pretty well and add alot of personality to the farm.

Guineas get to be about the size of an average chicken.  They come in several colors including; white, pearl, french, purple, lavender, coral blue and more.  They are easy to raise and once grown can be free ranged.  They can be victoms of preditors just like any other bird.  Guineas are fun and easy birds to have around.

We try to keep different colors of guineas and keets around.  They are one of out most popular birds and they are one of our favorites too.
